Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior GIS Specialist to join our team! Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) principles, techniques, and analyses to complete a wide variety of difficult and complex assignments. Creates, maintains, updates, and reviews GIS databases in support of various projects. Produces detailed maps providing spatial analysis to inform decision-making processes.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leads the preparation, review, and execution of GIS implementation/management plans at the program/project level.
Leads, creates and maintains digital maps for various projects using GIS capabilities.
Leads effective data analysis, input and data cleansing to uncover patterns, trends, and insights in geospatial data to improve the quality and accuracy of geospatial data.
Leads geoprocessing techniques to manipulate and analyze geospatial data, creating new information to solve geographical problems.
Leads the definition of topology rules to enforce data integrity and accuracy.
Leads efforts to advance data completeness for reliable spatial analysis and decision-making.
Leads basic and advanced editing and digitization to achieve accurate conversion of analog maps or geospatial data into digital format.
Leads the responsible usage of desktop and web applications for spatial analysis and data sharing.
Leads the usage of workbenches for transforming and converting geospatial data.
Develops custom GIS applications to support team in determining solutions to identified spatial problems.
Drafts special provisions and reviews for system and database for compliance, with oversight.
Provides technical guidance and training to team members in work production efforts including reviewing GIS deliverables, contributing to training manuals/videos for GIS software, and guide task team’s usage of systems, software, and databases.
Provides technical guidance, training and coaching to junior staff on GIS software and applications.
Checks deliverables from equal or less-experienced team members.
May perform in an advisory capacity to senior management and production staff on related work matters.
Assists team in responding to client queries and requests.
Provides input to clients/others working on same project.
Collaborates with project teams to lead spatial data/analysis for decision making.
Interfaces with other departments regularly, on matters relating to work assignments.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, data management or a related field from an accredited university.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in GIS on large-scale projects and infrastructure projects.
Licenses and Certifications
GIS related certification is preferred.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
work closely with the Master planning and Landscape teams to define and manage technical GIS workflows that enhance and improve our current procedures; Perform a wide variety of GIS tasks, including designing, developing, and implementing systems and databases to maintain geospatial data, conducting geospatial analysis, creating maps, processing field data, and confirming quality control. Additionally, you will support the studio with other day-to-day requirements in CAD, BIM and MicroStation works.
Experience of working internationally (preference for KSA).
