Job Summary
The Quality Inspector maintains quality standards by evaluating incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products against specifications. The Quality Inspector documents inspection results, communicates required adjustments to production, and works with the quality team and production crews to identify issues as they arise so solutions can be developed quickly.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate incoming materials against specifications through visual and/or measurement testing, and disposition product as needed.
- Evaluate in-process production against specifications through visual and measurement testing; communicate required adjustments to production supervisors.
- Evaluate finished products by confirming specifications through visual and measurement testing; return products for rework and confirm completion.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing rework and waste, and entering data into the quality database.
- Maintain measurement equipment by following operating instructions and calling for repairs as needed.
- Stay current on job knowledge through educational opportunities and technical publications.

- Position requires limited physical exertion. Incumbent will rarely be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, and larger amounts with assistance.
- The work location includes a warehouse and fabrication shop setting, which will expose the employee to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
- Employee must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed boots, and any other PPE as required in the production area. PPE will be provided by the company.
- Employee will give full attention to all tasks and follow all safety policies, practices, and guidelines.
What We're Looking For
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); further qualifications a plus.
Experience: Previous experience in a quality control function in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Other abilities:
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach; working knowledge of quality control standards, measurement, and testing methodologies.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings; fundamental grasp of geometry, GD&T is a plus.
- Strong, proactive written and verbal communicator with customers, clients, and coworkers.
