Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI
Certifications: Cloud+ CE, Server+ CE, and/or Security+ CE, as applicable
Required Education: Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent specialized training and experience may be considered.
Required Experience: One (1) to three (3) years of system administration or technical support experience involving servers, virtualization, storage, backup, identity, or related infrastructure.
Position Description
Ailani Wind Joint Venture is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support the operation and maintenance of on-premises systems serving NIPR, SIPR, SAP, and AFSCI missions. Working under the technical oversight of intermediate and senior systems administrators, this position performs day-to-day server, storage, virtualization, identity, monitoring, backup, and documentation activities.
The administrator responds to incidents, completes approved maintenance, verifies backups and system health, and escalates complex work requiring advanced or expert-level analysis. Intermediate and senior team members provide the expert capability required for complex engineering, recovery, and continuity activities.
Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
• Perform routine administration and maintenance of Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers under senior technical oversight and approved procedures.
• Monitor server, storage, application, authentication, and virtualization dashboards and promptly report or resolve identified conditions.
• Provision and update virtual machines, accounts, groups, permissions, DHCP records, and other assigned services.
• Assist with SAN, NAS, cloud-storage, and capacity-management activities.
• Execute approved patches, configuration changes, software installations, and maintenance tasks and document completion.
• Monitor Commvault or comparable backup jobs, investigate failures, and support scheduled restoration testing.
• Troubleshoot assigned system, application, performance, and access incidents and escalate complex issues with complete technical notes.
• Support workload, application, and data migrations to approved cloud environments.
• Participate in backup/restoral, disaster recovery, business continuity, and continuity of operations exercises.
• Maintain inventories, system records, diagrams, checklists, standard operating procedures, and configuration documentation.
• Coordinate with senior administrators and network, cyber, application, and service desk personnel to sustain mission operations.
Required Qualifications
• Foundational-to-intermediate knowledge of server operating systems, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup/recovery, identity services, and system monitoring.
• Working knowledge of Red Hat/Linux, Windows Server, VMware or comparable virtualization, and Commvault or comparable backup platforms.
• Basic knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-34, NIST SP 800-209, and applicable DAF and AFOSI COOP concepts.
• Ability to follow technical procedures, troubleshoot systematically, document work accurately, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Ability to safeguard classified and sensitive systems and comply with configuration, change, and cybersecurity controls.
• Ability to perform routine assignments under senior technical oversight and recognize work requiring advanced or expert-level support.
Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• RHCSA, Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, or Commvault certification.
• Hands-on experience supporting Active Directory, DHCP, SAN/NAS, virtual machines, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• Experience participating in recovery testing, COOP exercises, or cloud migrations.
• Experience supporting DAF or AFOSI systems and users.

$54-$75k
