This individual will combine digital delivery expertise, data-focused solution architecture, client advisory skills, and people leadership to move organizations from fragmented tools and project-specific workflows toward integrated, scalable, and broadly adopted ways of working.

Aligned directly alongside a Programmatic Digital Delivery Team, this role is expected to shape and deliver solutions that connect planning, engineering, construction, geospatial, program management, and asset lifecycle information. Rather than focusing on a single platform or technology, the individual will work across people, processes, data, and systems to define practical future-state solutions, architect and guide implementation, and help users realize sustained value.

What You’ll Do:

  • Applies technical expertise and guidance in area of practice. Acts as subject matter expert to provide strategic advice and analysis and engage in marketing and business development efforts for pursuits.
  • Prepares technical materials for projects, including strategic analyses, commercial documentation, technical provisions, procurement documents, and other materials pertaining to applicable subject matter focus.
  • Works with the line organization in a senior support role on strategically important client and project pursuits, providing technical input and market knowledge to navigate complex projects and enhance win probabilities and client satisfaction.
  • Targets national and international associations, trade shows, etc., to help the division/region/office identify leads, win work and maintain industry recognition.
  • Identifies, pursues, and executes high-level projects with assigned departments, agencies, and programs.
  • Assists in the successful contracting and project execution process, working closely with regional HNTB staff and office leadership.
  • Partners with National Practice Consultants and Leaders to develop and promote technical knowledge and applicability of practice area.
  • Works with HNTB project leadership to manage client relationships and guides the application of HNTB services within a specific practice area to best serve the interests of the client and HNTB.
  • Contributes to strategic planning in area of expertise and assists with thought leadership initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with 12 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree in relevant field with 11 years of relevant experience
  • In lieu of degree, 16 years of relevant experience

    What You'll Bring:

    • Experience leading digital delivery, digital transformation, information management, or connected data initiatives for transportation, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or asset-intensive organizations.
    • Experience developing current-state assessments, future-state operating models, digital delivery strategies, governance frameworks, implementation roadmaps, or enterprise solution architectures.
    • Demonstrated ability to connect information and workflows across BIM, GIS, common data environments, program management, construction, asset management, analytics, or related systems.
    • Experience defining data standards, information requirements, governance responsibilities, integration approaches, and lifecycle information strategies.
    • Experience guiding multidisciplinary solutions from discovery and architecture through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
    • Experience facilitating cross-functional stakeholder workshops and communicating effectively with executive, business, technical, project delivery, and operational audiences.
    • Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary professionals while remaining actively engaged in client and project delivery.
    • Experience supporting client development, proposals, scope and fee preparation, interviews, and delivery of professional consulting or technology-enabled services.
    • Working knowledge of organizational change, stakeholder engagement, adoption planning, readiness assessment, training, communications, or related implementation-support practices.
    • Familiarity with information management, systems interoperability, data governance, information security, solution architecture, quality assurance, and technology implementation principles.
    • Experience working with public-sector transportation agencies, infrastructure owners, or major capital programs is preferred.
    • Relevant professional certification or advanced training in engineering, architecture, planning, project management, information management, asset management, geographic information systems, BIM, systems architecture, organizational change, or a related discipline.

    What We Prefer:

    • Enterprise and systems thinking: Understands how organizational goals, business processes, people, data, governance, and technology interact across the infrastructure lifecycle.
    • Digital delivery architecture: Defines practical future-state solutions that connect project delivery requirements, information flows, platforms, integrations, and user needs.
    • Data and information leadership: Understands data governance, ownership, standards, quality, interoperability, traceability, and lifecycle information management.
    • Business and technical translation: Converts organizational needs into clear requirements and solution approaches while explaining technical concepts in language meaningful to leaders, practitioners, and users.
    • Transformation and adoption leadership: Incorporates stakeholder engagement, readiness, communications, training, user experience, and sustained adoption into solution planning and delivery.
    • Consultative problem-solving: Uses structured discovery, analysis, facilitation, and sound judgment to address complex and sometimes ambiguous organizational and technical challenges.
    • Client leadership: Builds trust, listens actively, facilitates alignment, and maintains focus on client outcomes rather than individual technologies or products.
    • Implementation orientation: Moves effectively from vision and architecture into prioritized actions, pilots, delivery plans, governance, and measurable outcomes.
    • Collaborative leadership: Brings together engineering, technology, data, business, and operational specialists while creating clarity around responsibilities, decisions, dependencies, and results.
    • People development: Coaches and develops team members, delegates meaningful responsibility, provides clear feedback, and builds multidisciplinary capability.
    • Communication and facilitation: Communicates clearly in written, verbal, workshop, presentation, and executive settings and adjusts the message for different audiences.
    • Quality and accountability: Establishes appropriate quality practices, manages commitments, identifies risks early, and follows through on decisions and expected outcomes.
    • Strategic growth mindset: Identifies emerging client needs, develops reusable approaches, contributes to pursuits and thought leadership, and helps scale successful solutions across markets and programs.
    • Adaptability and continuous learning: Maintains awareness of evolving digital delivery practices and technologies while evaluating them based on business relevance, feasibility, and client value.
