Description
Apollo Technical has an Immediate need for a PLC Programmer in the Austin TX area.
Education: Degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Control Engineering.
Language: Advanced English.
Italian is a plus.
+7 years Automation Engineer working in Automotive or similar Industry. Strong knowledge in automation/assembly
machinery. Strong knowledge of Siemens S7. Strong experience in designing, programming, simulating, and testing automated
machinery and processes.
Competences Skills
Technical:
• Knowledge of Coil Winding and Automation Machineryrequired.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs (Programmable LogicControllers, specifically Siemens S7).
• Knowledge in Structrued Text programming (C++ / C#kind) programming desired is a plus
• Knowing SQL database and interface is a plus
• Knowledge to understand servo motors, drives, encoders,proximity switches, solenoides and machine controlscircuits.
• Must be able to read and decipher electrical schematics.
• Good knowledge mechanical concepts related torobotics/industrial machinery.
• Should be able to handle technical task independently and with Service Department (USA and Italy).
Administratives:
• Office (Microsoft, Word, Power Point).
• Contact management software (Lotus Note, Outlook, ACT or similar).

6. Principal assignments:
1. Program PLCs, HMIs, and variable speed drives in Siemens programming language (TIA Portal, S7).
2. Design and supervise the assembly and installation of electrical panels and control cabinets.
3. Operation and commissioning of automated machinery.
4. Resolve line stoppages and propose improvements to increase operational efficiency.
5. Prepare documentation and reports on automation projects.
6. Run acceptances of machinery in Europe to ensure they meet customer requirements.
7. Receive phone calls from customers regarding service of machines in the field.
8. Visit customer locations with equipment for direct service of existing machinery not correctable by phone.
9. Visit customer locations in order to install machinery and go through customer acceptance requirements.
10. Assit with spare parts identification and shipment of spare parts.
