Description
Position Summary:
The Inventory Specialist supports the Maintenance Department by managing inventory, documentation, and materials necessary to maintain efficient maintenance operations. This role helps ensure that parts, records, and equipment information are accurate, accessible, and organized to support maintenance schedules and departmental objectives.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM.
Wage: $20-$22/hour.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop, organize, and maintain the maintenance parts inventory system.
- Track inventory levels and assist in ensuring adequate stock of critical spare parts and materials.
- Receive, label, store, and organize parts and materials in designated inventory locations.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory control and maintenance recordkeeping.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including documentation management and entry of corrective action completion records.
- Coordinate the ordering of maintenance parts and supplies under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain equipment manuals, technical documentation, and maintenance-related records.
- Keep the maintenance shop, inventory areas, and storage locations clean, orderly, and safe.
- Communicate with vendors regarding parts availability, pricing, orders, and deliveries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors by phone and email.
- Basic computer skills are required, including data entry and document management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in an administrative, inventory, warehouse, or related support role preferred.
- General knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment parts, or manufacturing processes preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to walk throughout the maintenance shop and production facility.
- Ability to lift, move, organize, and store maintenance parts and supplies.
- Ability to bend, reach, and stand as needed to perform inventory-related duties.
- Ability to safely navigate industrial work areas.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to noise, equipment operation, and varying temperatures may occur while working in maintenance and production areas.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when entering production or maintenance areas.
