Senior Operations Performance Engineer

About you and this role

Drives profitable operation across production and logistics by applying leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement to close performance gaps. Analyzes operational, quality, and logistics data to validate results, diagnose gaps, and identify improvements that deliver value and required performance.
Owns taking corrective action to close performance gaps, accuracy of data entry, and prioritized improvements aligned to plant and business goals. Provides leadership during unplanned events, commissioning, start-up, and project handover, exercising decision-making authority and escalating as required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and categorize production losses and deviation data
• Analyze operational, quality, and logistics data to validate results, diagnose gaps, and identify improvements
• Determine and prioritize corrective actions to close operational performance gaps in utilization, yield, uptime, quality, and reliability
• Identify, prioritize, and implement improvement opportunities aligned with plant, global technology, and business objectives
• Lead and support capital and non-capital improvement projects using defined work processes
• Provide leadership during plant maintenance, unplanned events, commissioning, start-up, and project handover to Operations
• Partner with maintenance, OTEC, and process expertise to drive temporary and permanent equipment repairs and improvements
• Support and drive EHS and process safety culture, compliance, and incident reporting
• Champion effective maintenance practices, operating discipline, and root cause problem solving
• Provide input to turnaround scope for availability and reliability opportunities

Qualifications

• Requires an engineering degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, materials, logistics/supply chain, or related field
• Requires strong understanding of chemistries, equipment, and processing technology in the area of responsibility
• Requires data-driven decision making and problem-solving capability
• Requires ability to understand mass and energy balance and correlate losses to value
• Requires effective communication, influence, and stakeholder alignment
• Requires ability to lead projects, coach others, and build operational credibility
• Requires a value creation and continuous improvement mindset
