Tax Associate - Real Estate PortCo or Developers

Job Responsibilities

• Preparing simple to medium complex tax returns: Real estate fund, holding entity and property partnership returns (Form 1065); REIT (Form 1120-REIT); and corporate blockers (Form 1120)
• Preparing state and local tax returns, composite and withholding filings for client in the Real Estate industry
• Preparing quarterly and annual REIT Testing compliance
• Meet client, internal and statutory deadlines
• Completing tax planning and research regarding specific tax issues
• Understanding tax regulations and accounting pronouncements
• Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
• Other duties as assigned
• Some travel may be required (varies based on location, line of business & client need)

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field (B.Com/BBA/M.Com/MBA)
• Minimum 1 year expereince in US taxations domain (preferrably worked for 1 or 2 busy seasons in the skillset of respective capability as need for the business)
• Preferable Enrolled Agent / Certified Public Accountant
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines and in accordance with firm and client standards
• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written means in English
• Effective project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and quality of work in a fast paced, client service environment
• Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and, as required by the role, at client sites, including the ability to sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer and other standard office equipment
• Ability to maintain consistent, onsite presence during core business hours including the ability to regularly report to a firm office location and travel to client sites as required, including access to reliable transportation
• Ability to work extended and/or non standard hours during peak periods or as necessary to meet client, project, or firm business needs
