Valmet is known for its reliable marine automation. We have been intensively present onboard all types of ships where our solutions play an integral role. Our target is to make the vessels greener, more efficient and more profitable, thanks to the use of advanced automation and scrubber solutions. We are now looking for a Service Coordinator/Engineer within Marine Automation to our Norwegian office in Lier.
Your Main Responsibilities
As a Service Coordinator/Engineer your key duties lay within:
Support and service our Marine customers.
Planning/coordinating/administrating service jobs globally by using our extensive service network.
Follow-up on open warranty cases.
Maintaining and updating the quotation, ensuring traceability and accuracy.
Managing orders from quotation to invoicing, creating work orders in the ERP system, and coordinating timelines with involved parties.
Planning and conduct/ execute service on demand, upgrades. Supporting the execution team.
To be substitute for Service Manager and be part of 24/7 emergency support line.
What do we expect from you?
We’re seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-layered global environment. The ideal candidate will have:
A technical background or equivalent experience in customer service or project coordination, preferably within the marine automation industry.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor LN) and CRM systems.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
An accurate, structured approach to work with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A proactive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn.
Experience of working on ships with electrical or data programming is preferred.
We also believe that you have an engineering background, with PLC and/or automation programming. Knowledge of marine ships engine systems is considered as an asset.
This position requires some traveling at times to customer, ships or Marine floating devices. You need to be able to have English as a working language, any other additional languages are considered an asset. It is also beneficial if you are experienced in working abroad.
