Description

IMC Trading is looking for an IT Procurement Officer to support the sourcing, purchasing, and lifecycle management of the hardware, networking equipment, and software that power our trading operations. This role sits at the intersection of procurement and technology, working closely with trading infrastructure engineers, network teams, and vendors to ensure that servers, networking gear, colocation equipment, and IT software are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time.

Your Core Responsibilities: 

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of IT hardware and trading infrastructure components, including servers, switches, networking equipment, cabling, and colocation/data center hardware, from requisition through delivery and asset intake.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, track order status, and coordinate with vendors and freight/logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery to data centers and offices, including urgent or time-sensitive trading infrastructure requests.
  • Assist in negotiating pricing, delivery timelines, and contract terms with hardware vendors, software publishers, and colocation/data center providers, under guidance from senior technical staff.
  • On occasion, contribute to RFPs for strategic commercial arrangements, supporting vendor evaluation and proposal comparison for larger or longer-term agreements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, contracts, and vendor documentation in the procurement system, ensuring audit-readiness and compliance with internal policies.
  • Partner with the trading infrastructure, network engineering, and IT operations teams to understand technical requirements and lead times, translating them into accurate purchase requisitions.
  • Monitor vendor performance, delivery accuracy, and pricing trends for hardware and colocation providers, and escalate recurring issues to the Procurement Manager.
  • Support IT asset management processes, including tagging, tracking, and coordinating the disposal or redeployment of retired hardware.
  • Collaborating with operations and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels on commonly used hardware, staying ahead of the demand curve, assist operational teams with keeping inventory up to date.
  • Stay informed on market pricing, new hardware releases, and supplier options relevant to trading infrastructure to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Work with internal teams to continuously improve procurement systems and processes, bringing an AI-first mindset to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, vendor management, or IT asset management.
  • Understanding of IT hardware, networking, trading infrastructure, and data center concepts and terminology, including servers, switches, network cabling, and data center equipment; prior exposure to trading or financial-services technology environments is a plus.
  • Experience purchasing networking or data center hardware, including switches, routers, servers, cabling, and rack/power equipment, from vendors such as Arista, Cisco, Dell, HPE, or similar; familiarity with colocation, cross-connect, or data center services procurement is a plus.
  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced trading, financial-services, or technology firm, with the adaptability to operate in a high-stakes trading environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with consistent follow-through on orders, contracts, and deadlines and the ability to manage multiple purchase requests simultaneously.
  • Clear, proactive written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams, translate requirements into procurement actions, and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors professionally and diplomatically.
  • Sound judgment in balancing cost, speed, and quality when sourcing time-sensitive trading infrastructure.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken is a must to liaise with regional vendors, offices, and stakeholders.
