Description
Morgan Stanley Fund Services (MSFS), part of the Institutional Equities Division, provides fund administration services for $800B+ in assets across more than 350 global hedge funds, private equity firms, and family offices. The business operates with approximately 1,400 professionals across New York, London, Glasgow, Dublin, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hong Kong.
MSFS is seeking a Global Head of Investor Services to lead the business’ global Investor Servicing team and platform. The role is responsible for overseeing investor servicing, transfer agency, and investor operations delivered to institutional investors across our client base. A key element of the role is direct client service and communications to attract and retain clients.
The successful candidate will manage a global team of 100+ professionals and be responsible for delivering a scalable, highly controlled, and technology-enabled investor servicing platform. This individual will serve on the MSFS leadership team and will partner closely with senior leaders across operations, technology, product development, and client coverage to support the continued growth and development of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Global Platform Leadership
- Lead and develop a global investor services organization of 100+ professionals across multiple regions.
- Establish strong leadership, governance, and operating discipline across the platform. Identify and enable the success of top talent, build a strong leadership bench.
- Partner very closely with the leadership of the MSFS Accounting client facing and operations teams to high quality, integrated-MSFS service
Investor Servicing & Operations
Oversee all investor servicing and transfer agency activities including onboarding, AML/KYC, subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting
Ensure consistent delivery of a high-quality service model for institutional investors and fund manager clients
Client Engagement and Problem Solving
Serve as a senior point of contact for key clients, working directly with fund managers, COOs, CFOs, and Heads of Investor Relations to address complex operational and investor servicing matters.
Lead resolution of critical client and investor issues, coordinating across operations, technology, legal, and compliance teams as needed
Partner with clients proactively to identify operational improvements, enhance reporting and
transparency, and improve the overall investor experience.
Provide strategic input to clients on best practices in investor servicing, onboarding, and regulatory processes.
Support client retention and growth by strengthening relationships with senior client stakeholders and delivering a consistently high level of service
Risk, Controls, and Regulatory Oversight
Maintain a robust global control environment governing investor transactions, documentation, and communications.
Partner closely with Morgan Stanley Firmwide Legal, Compliance, and Risk to ensure adherence to regulatory and policy requirements, and development deployment of best practices
Technology and Platform Development
Drive the evolution of investor-facing technology and digital infrastructure, including investor portals and workflow automation
Define and dead initiatives to improve scale, efficiency, and client experience through automation and AI-enabled processing
Business Leadership
Serve as a senior escalation point for complex client and investor matters
Connect the dots with clients to deliver proactive client service for MSFS and the Equities Division, to monetize client relationships
Establish clear priorities to contribute to strategic initiatives across the MSFS platform as a member of the business leadership team
Qualifications
15+ years of experience with hedge funds or private markets
Ideally, deep knowledge of fund administration, investor services, transfer agency, or investor relations within
Proven ability to lead large, global teams within complex operational environments
Strong technical expertise in investor servicing, fund structures, and regulatory requirements including AML/KYC
Strong executive presence and ability to engage with senior clients, investors, and internal stakeholders
Track record of driving operational scale, platform transformation, and technology innovation

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
