Role Overview:
The Sr Sales Representative is responsible for developing and managing customer relationships while driving profitable growth across a designated territory. This role serves as a trusted advisor by identifying opportunities, recommending products and services, and delivering solutions that help customers achieve their operational and business objectives. The Sr Sales Representative develops business plans, grows market share, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience. The role also supports Wilbur-Ellis business goals through strategic territory management, sales planning, and customer engagement. Success in this position requires strong relationship-building, consultative selling, business acumen, and technology adoption.
A Sample of What You’ll Do in This Role:
Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve sales, margin, and growth objectives
Establish, maintain, and expand relationships with existing and prospective customers
Identify customer needs and recommend products, services, and solutions that provide value and support customer success
Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews to understand customer goals, challenges, and opportunities
Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and lead generation activities
Manage a sales pipeline and maintain accurate forecasting of opportunities, revenue, and customer activity
Collaborate with agronomy, technical, operations, customer service, and supply chain teams to deliver customer solutions
Negotiate pricing and contract terms within established company guidelines
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
Participate in customer events, industry meetings, trade shows, and community activities to strengthen market presence
Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical business practices
Support collection efforts and partner with finance teams to manage customer credit and payment issues when needed
Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales activity records within company systems
What You Bring to the Role:
Proven experience in sales, account management, agriculture, agribusiness, crop inputs, animal nutrition, specialty products, or a related industry
Demonstrated success achieving sales goals and developing customer relationships
Strong business acumen and understanding of sales planning, forecasting, and profitability management
Experience developing and executing territory strategies to grow revenue and market share
Strong problem-solving and consultative selling skills
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
Your Digital & Technology Capabilities:
Experience using CRM systems, digital sales tools, and Microsoft 365 applications, including Microsoft Teams, to manage customer relationships, sales activities, and collaboration
Ability to leverage business data, reporting tools, and analytics to support forecasting, territory planning, and data-driven decision making
Comfortable adopting emerging technologies, including Microsoft Copilot, generative AI, and workflow automation tools, to improve productivity and customer engagement

Compensation and Benefits:
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $84,000 - $112,010. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
