Inventory Manager

Position Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing inventory control and accuracy across assigned locations. This position leads inventory processes, analyzes inventory performance, identifies and resolves discrepancies, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.

The Inventory Manager also leads and develops Inventory Specialists across multiple locations, providing clear direction, coaching, and accountability while ensuring inventory practices align with customer requirements and company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, food safety, and GMP requirements.

  • Lead, coach, and develop Inventory Specialists across multiple locations, including training, performance feedback, goal setting, and performance evaluations.

  • Establish clear objectives and monitor team performance using inventory accuracy, cycle count, discrepancy, and other key performance metrics.

  • Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counting, reconciliation, physical inventories, inventory adjustments, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Partner with operations teams, internal departments, and customers to investigate inventory issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Communicate inventory concerns, trends, and potential risks to customers and internal leadership in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare reports as required by customers and management.

  • Leverage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other technology to improve inventory visibility, accuracy, and process efficiency.

  • Identify process deviations and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce inventory discrepancies and improve operational performance.

  • Ensure inventory processes and work areas are organized, efficient, and audit-ready.

  • Support customer requirements, operational initiatives, and special projects as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Previous inventory control, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experience.

  • Previous leadership or people-management experience.

  • Strong proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with data analytics or reporting tools is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing inventory discrepancies and implementing process improvements.

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

  • Must be able and willing to work regularly in refrigerated warehouse conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000–$80,000 annual salary
