Join Veritas, a Business of Oliver Wyman specializing in Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM), as a Senior Engineering Consultant with 3-7 years of experience in the ETRM landscape with expertise in advanced engineering capabilities.

In this role, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams to help energy and commodity trading organizations solve complex business and technology challenges, shaping scalable solutions across trading, risk, operations, data, and technology. You bring enthusiasm, expertise, and strategic leadership. We provide growth and opportunities to succeed.

You Bring:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, IT, Computer Science, technology, engineering, finance, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered

• 3-7 years of relevant experience in ETRM, solutions and enterprise architecture, software and data engineering.

• Strong consulting, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convert complex business and technical challenges into practical, scalable solutions

• Ability to build trusted client relationships, maintain momentum in complex delivery environments, respect confidentiality, and travel as required

Functional Knowledge

• Good understanding of the end-to-end energy and commodity trading lifecycle across front, middle, and back office

• Experience operating in an industry across one or more commodities, such as gas, power, LNG, crude, refined products, renewables, environmental products, agriculture, or metals

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills across applications, data, interfaces, and reporting

• Confident and engaging communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute to workshops, work independently, challenge requirements constructively, and deliver high-quality work with strong attention to detail

We Also Value:
 

Application Knowledge

• Good understanding of at least one leading ETRM platform, with Openlink Endur strongly preferred, followed by RightAngle and Allegro 

• Exposure to additional platforms such as ENTRADE or Fusion would be good to have. 

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on engineering capability in Java, C#, Python, or similar languages, supported by solid SQL, relational database, API, and data-modelling fundamentals.

• Strong understanding of ETRM platform boundaries and extension patterns, with the ability to determine what should remain within the core platform versus what should be delivered through external services, integrations, data products, or custom components.

• Design and build complex integration and data architectures across APIs, event-driven patterns, batch interfaces, messaging, data pipelines, reconciliation services, and controlled data migrations, including validation, resiliency, exception handling, and monitoring.

• Shape and engineer modern cloud-native solutions around ETRM platforms, including microservices, serverless components, CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, observability, and production supportability, working closely with ETRM Systems & Solutions specialists on platform-specific design.
