The expected hiring range for this position is:
$41.43-$50.53.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
A typical day as a Surveyor will include:
• Develops detailed engineering design and performs manual technical work.
• Specifies materials and methods of an assigned project.
• Directs procurement of commercially available products needed for the project.
• Directs installation of materials and commissioning on assigned project.
• Ensures the availability of all appropriate documentation.
• Creates a work plan and complies with safety pre-requisites.
• Provides design and installation advice and guidance to peers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Minimum Required Education and Experience: High school diploma with 5+ years of experience in an applicable engineering discipline. Associate’s degree preferred.
Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Professional knowledge and experience in applying basic theories, concepts, principles, and methodology for practicing in the engineering discipline.
• Professional knowledge of new methods and materials, fabrication planning, procurement management, project commissioning, and budget and staff management.
• Performs basic electrical or mechanical engineering design solutions and techniques.
• Ability to make decisions based on sound engineering principles.
• Communicates cooperatively and effectively with peers, other Laboratory staff, and vendors of materials and services.

To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a federal background check investigation.
