Summary:
The role of this position is to provide a safe, functional, clean, efficient, and attractive living and learning environment. This position assists in the evaluation, repair and replacement of facilities, performs buildings inspections and makes minor repairs alone or as part of a building maintenance team. This position requires direct supervision. The selected candidate will respond to requests to perform minor maintenance from facilities management, or customers. The selected will perform minor repair tasks and communicate their findings to others for quick and efficient service and repair of deficiencies. They will also assist other trades as required or assigned, in order that work assigned is done in a timely manner. They will perform other duties as assigned, under supervision. Completes records as directed by Maintenance Supervisor, to ensure accurate record keeping.
Essential Functions:
Assists with the installation of new or reconditioned mechanical, or HVAC equipment, to maintain a fully operational and safe system. Performs minor corrective and planned maintenance on air handling units, pumps, fan coil units, variable air volume units, DX units, exhaust fans and related equipment. Responsible for addressing safety issues such as leaks or clogs to maintain a safe, reliable and efficient operation and to ensure a comfortable living and learning environment. Performs logistical tasks such as moving parts or equipment between locations. Provides an escort for contractors or others needing access to the campus.
Inspect buildings, mechanical rooms and equipment, to provide safe and clean working condition for employees. Assists other trades in accomplishing high-quality work.
Attend organizational meetings to convey the importance of accurate, timely and correct maintenance and record keeping of the maintenance function. Provides information and assistance to building occupants, project managers and others involved in major alterations/renovations of buildings.
Attend technical training to remain up to date with new equipment that may be installed into buildings. Completes computer-based training as assigned.
Maintains accurate files and equipment records for deferred maintenance analysis, needed to build a historical database from which to efficiently manage future project costs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time.
40 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$23.21 - $25.00 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 - 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of Basic Safety Practices.
Basic knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Intro to Building Maintenance Course at Community College or Trade School.
1 - 2 years Experience as a Helper/Maintainer, performing maintenance of Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Building Automation or HVAC Systems related tasks.
