Role/Department:
Northern Trust provides global coverage for our clients, and trades in 70+ countries through our comprehensive FX capabilities. We are looking to hire a Specialist in the Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) Business Enablement group, to join a new and growing team.
The GFX Business Enablement group is responsible for the business administration and oversight of the risk & control environment for GFX. In this role, you will be reporting into the GFX Head of Business Enablement, supporting the Foreign Exchange trading desk.
We are seeking an experienced yet ambitious candidate with a passion for delivery, excellent written and oral communication skills, diligently organize, and ready to ‘roll up their sleeves’. The individual should be ambitious and not afraid of a challenge.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Work with Sales & Trading partners to provide business support around process automation, allowing those teams to prioritize client facing and risk management responsibilities
- Develop reports, dashboards, and models (Excel, SQL, BI tools) to support decision making and/or management reporting
- Perform data extraction, cleansing, and validation across systems
- Evaluate current state workflows and identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and pain points
- Document newly automated processes: procedures, process flows, and other key documentation required to support the FX business
- Partner with enterprise data governance standards teams to establish and enforce data governance standards for the FX business
- Create process mapping and workflow analysis to help identify how governance is achieved
- Develop, document and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Cultivate and maintaining strong and pro-active working relationships internally to ensure client data and reporting needs are consistently met
- Work effectively as a team member but also independently
Skills/Qualifications
- Proven professional experience within financial services or consulting firm
- Knowledge of FX products (preferred), lifecycle, roles & responsibilities of the functions to support a Capital Markets Trading Desk
- Understanding of trading desk workflows and controls
- Experience working with data governance standards, policies, procedures, and operating models
- Understanding of data ownership, stewardship, accountabilities, and governance
- Proven capability in high-quality execution, including both independent delivery, as well as supporting cross-functional stakeholders to drive change
- Has detailed knowledge of Power BI dashboard creation and developing and implementing automation solutions e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate
- Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to present complex information that can be understood by non-subject matter experts
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Good stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to work with team members of all levels across regions and time zones
