The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Cambridge, MA
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM | Earlier start times are available.
Hourly pay range: $27.00 - $29.00

What we’re looking for
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
Experience:
1 to 2 years of laboratory experience preferred; relevant undergraduate laboratory coursework and hands-on lab experience will be considered.
Experience working with laboratory equipment, including balances and pH meters, is a plus.
Prior experience using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions is preferred;
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proven commitment to adhering to safety protocols, quality standards, and established site procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiarity with procurement and inventory management systems such as Coupa and Inventory Manager.
Basic knowledge of laboratory operations, equipment, and inventory management processes.
Ability to follow and interpret Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and compliance requirements.
Experience managing inventory records, tracking materials, and supporting laboratory supply management.
Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and quality compliance standards.
Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:
Manage solvent inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders through Inventory Manager and Coupa, receiving shipments, applying barcodes and labels, and restocking inventory.
Store solvents in accordance with SHE requirements and maintain clean, organized, and compliant storage areas.
Support laboratory operations by conducting inventory scans, preparing delivery carts, and replenishing solvents from the central stockroom to laboratory locations as needed.
Manage solvent waste and disposal activities by collecting empty containers, scanning inventory records, and disposing of materials in approved waste management areas.
Track solvent usage metrics and prepare monthly consumption reports.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational standards related to solvent handling, storage, inventory management, and disposal.
Provide operational support with reagent management, media preparation, chemical receiving, inventory logging, stockroom replenishment, internal chemical request fulfillment, and reagent deliveries as assigned by the Team Lead.
