Wheatland Electric Cooperative is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Line Foreman to lead line crews in the construction, maintenance, repair, and restoration of overhead and underground electric distribution systems. This position provides hands-on leadership while ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Cooperative policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise line crews performing energized and de-energized utility line construction and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and Cooperative work practices.
- Respond to outages, emergencies, and member service needs.
- Train, mentor, and develop apprentice linemen and crew members.
- Perform and oversee overhead and underground line construction, maintenance, and service restoration.
- Operate and maintain line equipment, including bucket trucks, diggers, trenchers, forklifts, and skid loaders.
- Conduct inspections, troubleshoot electrical distribution issues, and restore service safely and efficiently.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, material inventories, crew timekeeping, and equipment inspections.
- Support member relations by communicating effectively and promoting Cooperative programs and services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a Department of Labor approved 4-year Lineman Apprenticeship Program.
- Journeyman Lineman certification required.
- Two years of Journeyman Lineman experience preferred.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must live in or be willing to relocate to the assigned service area in accordance with Cooperative requirements.
