What You Will Do

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll be the technical owner of customer deployments from initial technical scoping through production launch and ongoing optimization.

You’ll work directly with healthcare organizations to build, configure, deploy, and optimize production AI agents tailored to their unique workflows. You’ll partner closely with Agent Product Managers, who own the customer relationship and project plan, while you own the technical execution — integrations, custom workflows, debugging, and successful launches.

Ship Production AI Agents

• Own technical implementations end-to-end, from technical scoping through go-live and beyond
• Build custom integrations with complex healthcare platforms and systems
• Design intelligent workflows tailored to each customer’s specialty, patient population, and operational requirements
• Deploy production AI agents that handle thousands of real patient interactions every day
• Ensure implementations are reliable, scalable, and optimized for real-world usage

Solve Hard Technical Problems

• Debug integration issues across phone systems, EHRs, scheduling platforms, and patient engagement tools
• Architect creative solutions for complex healthcare requirements, including insurance verification, appointment rules, and clinical protocols
• Build tooling and automation that make future implementations faster and more reliable
• Investigate production issues and develop practical technical solutions
• Continuously optimize agent performance using real-world data and customer feedback

Shape the Product

• Partner with Product and Engineering to influence platform direction based on field learnings
• Identify recurring implementation patterns that can become scalable product features
• Work closely with Sales to scope technical requirements and demonstrate platform capabilities to prospective customers
• Act as a technical voice of the customer and bring implementation insights back to the broader organization

Ideal Candidate Background

Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering or highly technical implementation experience
• Experience owning technical projects from initial requirements through production deployment
• Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders on technical implementations
• Strong experience debugging and integrating complex systems
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments with significant autonomy

Technical Requirements

• Strong Python experience
• Strong understanding of APIs and third-party integrations
• Experience building and troubleshooting production integrations
• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
• Comfortable working across application, integration, and infrastructure layers
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with production systems and real-world data
• Ability to translate ambiguous customer requirements into practical technical solutions

Preferred Background

• Experience with EHR, PMS, healthcare, or other complex enterprise systems
• Experience with Twilio or communications/voice platforms
• Experience working with AI, LLMs, or AI-powered applications
• Experience building workflow automation or intelligent agents
• Experience in healthcare technology, enterprise SaaS, or other highly regulated industries
• Experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Implementation Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role
