Job Description:
National Church Residences is seeking an Activities Coordinator to create engaging, meaningful programs and events that promote resident enrichment, connection, and overall quality of life.
Location: Baptist Gardens 101 units-1901 Myrtle Drive SW Atlanta, GA 30311
What You’ll Do
Plan, coordinate, and lead daily and monthly resident activities, events, outings, trips, and celebrations.
Develop programs based on resident interests, needs, and abilities.
Encourage residents to participate, share their talents, and take an active role in community events.
Coordinate shopping trips and other planned outings.
Create and distribute monthly activity calendars and newsletters.
Organize holiday celebrations and special events throughout the year.
Conduct resident surveys to gather feedback and identify interests.
Coordinate volunteer opportunities within the community and greater community.
Work closely with property staff, residents, families, and community partners.
Manage and monitor the annual activities budget.
Maintain required records, reports, and documentation.
Attend meetings and complete other duties as assigned.
Maintain resident confidentiality and ensure activities are conducted with dignity, respect, and in compliance with Fair Housing requirements and applicable regulations.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification in activities programming or a degree in recreational therapy, social work, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience as an Activities Director, Activities Coordinator, or in a related role preferred.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company motor vehicle requirements.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and engage residents with different interests and abilities.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems.
Strong motivational skills and a high level of emotional intelligence.
Physical & Working Environment
This position requires regular standing, sitting, and walking, with occasional stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, and driving. The role may require lifting/carrying items up to 50 lbs. and occasional heavier lifting.
Work is primarily indoors, with frequent outdoor activities in varying weather conditions. Employees may encounter noise, odors, illness, infection, and occasional physical contact with disruptive residents/clients.
