The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is the nation's largest regional education agency and supports 80 public school districts and numerous other agencies in ensuring educational excellence for the region's two million preschool and school-age children.
Assist LACOE with the implementation of the Business Enhancement System Transformation (BEST) Project for 97 Los Angeles County educational agencies (i.e., a mix of K-12 School Districts, Community Colleges, Charter Schools and Joint Powers Authorities) that must be fully implemented and in production of the Advantage system by no later than June 30, 2027.
Job duties include assisting agencies with one of the Advantage applications, which may include Budget (BUD), Financial (FIN) or Human Capital Management (HCM). Responsibilities may include providing system navigation and user support, assisting with online document processing, and supporting business processes and transactions related to areas such as human resources, payroll, time and leave, accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting, budget adjustments and financial reporting.
Regional Availability
Applicants must be able to work in northern Los Angeles County, such as the High Desert region near Lancaster and Palmdale. Other positions are available throughout Los Angeles County.
LACOE is seeking applicants who can provide in-person support to agencies in the northern region to help ensure those agencies have adequate coverage during the BEST Project implementation. This information will be used to support effective placement across school sites and ensure agencies receive timely, on-site assistance.
Required Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree is not required to apply for this position. Applicants without a bachelor’s degree are eligible for the $26.38 hourly rate, while applicants with a bachelor’s degree are eligible for the higher hourly rate of $33.29.
A bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology, organizational development, public administration, human resources, business administration, sociology or applied statistics is preferred.
Preferred qualifications include one year of Excel experience. Applicants should have knowledge of Human Resources, Time & Leave Management, and Payroll. Experience with financial, budget, ERP, or financial management systems is preferred, particularly in a school district, county office of education, governmental agency or other public sector setting. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements: Individuals must either possess a valid driver’s license with access to private transportation or demonstrate the ability to reliably travel between job sites using alternative means.Selection Process
