This fast‑expanding Asia‑origin fintech brokerage is scaling across HongKong, Singapore, US, Australia, Japan and Malaysia, building a globally recognised international fintech brand.
Core Responsibilities
Global PR Strategy & Executive Thought Leadership
Develop and execute global PR strategy to lift brand visibility and authority across North America, Southeast Asia, Australia and NewZealand. Build an enterprise‑wide thought‑leadership system to position the firm as a trusted industry reference for retail investing, fintech innovation, AI‑powered investing and global brokerage trends. Design annual media engagement plans for C‑suite spokespeople, nurture long‑term editorial ties with top global financial and business media. Build tiered global media databases and oversee media partnership planning, negotiation and performance tracking.
Proactive PR & Campaign Execution
Shift from reactive media handling to proactive communications programming. Deliver minimum four high‑impact global / regional PR campaigns annually for market entry, product launches, industry research releases and user‑focused storytelling. Develop a corporate story bank converting business milestones, product innovation and global expansion journeys into media‑ready narratives. Own quality control for press releases, executive by‑lines, media briefings and related PR assets. Partner with brand and social‑media teams to repurpose earned‑media content for multi‑channel amplification.
Global Crisis & Reputation Management
Build and iterate cross‑market media monitoring and crisis‑management frameworks with standardised SOPs covering early risk warning, assessment, decision‑making and external response. Act as key PR lead during reputational incidents; assess risk under pressure, define communication strategy and align unified external messaging in close coordination with Legal, Compliance and business teams. Anticipate risks stemming from regulatory updates, market volatility and public sentiment; prepare pre‑built communication playbooks. Drive factual response to inaccurate reporting and lead trust‑rebuilding communications for internal remediation scenarios.
Direct ownership for HongKong Corporate Affairs & CSR (in‑house, not outsourced)
‑ Represent the organisation at industry forums, regulatory consultations and standard‑setting working groups to strengthen local industry influence. Partner with IR teams on PR‑related elements for HongKong earnings releases and analyst briefings.
‑ Develop and deliver local CSR strategy focused on financial literacy, investor protection, tech‑for‑good and community impact. Roll‑out flagship CSR initiatives including investor education and youth talent programmes, and amplify social impact via PR. Establish measurement frameworks to convert social‑value outcomes into brand trust and goodwill.
‑ Cultivate deep‑running relationships with key HongKong financial media; design local PR events and leverage HongKong's international financial‑centre status to export local success stories into global brand narratives.
Global PR Team Leadership, Collaboration & Budget Management
Recruit, develop and performance‑manage the global PR team to build a high‑performing cross‑cultural function. Establish effective working mechanisms between headquarters and regional PR teams to align global strategy with local execution. Conduct post‑campaign reviews, document proven playbooks and replicate successful practices across geographies. Manage annual PR budget and external vendor partners (PR agencies, media monitoring, event suppliers) to deliver measurable ROI.
Requirements
‑ 10+years corporate PR / communications / corporate‑affairs experience within multinational organisations; minimum 3years hands‑on people‑management experience leading teams of 10people or above.
‑ Fluent English and Mandarin are mandatory; near‑native high‑business‑level English for drafting PR materials and direct engagement with top‑tier global financial media; fluent Cantonese for HongKong stakeholder and media engagement.
‑ Solid capital markets and securities trading savvy is a must‑have; established direct working relationships with global and HongKong financial‑services media.
‑ Proven track‑record leading crisis‑communications responses for high‑stakes reputational events within regulated financial‑services industries.
‑ Strong editorial judgement; proven ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives for media and general audiences.
‑ Self‑driven, resilient and comfortable within fast‑paced high‑growth business environments.
‑ Basic working knowledge of securities, options, ETFs and investment‑product mechanics; personal investing experience is preferred.
‑ Global PR leadership experience at an online brokerage or fintech unicorn.
‑ Previous experience within HongKong financial regulators, industry associations or corporate‑affairs teams of large financial institutions.
‑ Track‑record of building and scaling a global PR function from ground‑zero.
