OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
The International Payments Associate is responsible for independently executing and managing international payment operations, Service Desk, and Cash Management activities.
The role combines solid operational autonomy, analytical capability, and quality ownership, ensuring the correct handling of complex (non STP) transactions, payment investigations, and After sales services in line with established procedures, SLAs, and compliance requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who appreciates working in a dynamic, structured, and regulated environment, has a strong customer mindset, and values collaboration and continuous improvement within a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and monitor international (non‑SEPA) payments (EUR and foreign currency) end to end, including sending to foreign correspondents via SWIFT.
- Perform and/or coordinate controls/checks linked to the completeness of the data and the payment routing
- After Sales support ensuring correct set-up and smooth delivery.
- Manage investigations and service requests on executed transactions (e.g., non‑receipt, anomalies): analyses, gather information, identify root cause, and coordinate resolution.
- Provide advice and support: internal stakeholders on payments and cash management processes with a strong customer focus
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, intermediaries and banks to ensure efficient delivery and continuous improvement

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; or comparable relevant experience
Language
- Proficient in English (B2 level or higher); French and/or Dutch is a plus
Experience
- We are seeking dynamic candidates with a strong willingness to learn
- Previous experience in transaction banking operations, cash management, payments operations, or a comparable environment (such as a bank, corporate treasury, or shared service center) would be considered an advantage, though it is not a mandatory requirement
- Hands-on experience with investigations/service requests (e.g., non-receipt, anomalies, returns) and stakeholder coordination is preferred
- Exposure to compliance controls in payments (AML/sanctions/fraud) is an advantage
- You Must own a valid work permit or EU/Schengen Space Nationality to legally work in Portugal
- You must submit your CV in English
