Description
We Are:
Accenture Digital Core, the Reinvention Partner helping the world's leading enterprises rebuild their technology foundations for the AI era. Within Digital Core, our AI-Ready Data practice builds trusted, governed, and AI-ready data foundations — the fuel that powers agentic and generative AI at enterprise scale. We work across data migration, data modernization, and knowledge engineering, turning legacy data estates into intelligence-first platforms. Want to lead the engagements that make that transformation real for our clients? Read on to learn more about this role and who we are looking for.
You Are:
An experienced Data & AI delivery leader who thrives at the center of complex, large-scale data migration and modernization programs — someone who can walk into a steering committee with a client CxO in the morning and a technical design review with a client Chief Architect in the afternoon and be equally credible in both rooms. As a Technology Delivery Lead within our AI-Ready Data tower, you own the end-to-end delivery of engagements spanning cloud data migration, data platform modernization, and AI-ready data enablement — managing scope, timelines, risk, and a large multi-functional team of data engineers, architects, and testers.
You bring deep delivery acumen and enough hands-on technical grounding in cloud data platforms to challenge architecture decisions, unblock technical risk, and keep a program on track — while your primary value is in orchestrating people, scope, and stakeholders toward a predictable, high-quality outcome.
What you'll be doing:
Delivery Leadership
- Own end-to-end delivery of large data migration and data modernization engagements — managing scope, budget, timeline, quality, and risk across multiple workstreams.
- Establish and run delivery governance: RAID logs, dependency tracking, cutover/parallel-run planning, and status reporting cadences with client and Accenture leadership.
- Manage critical risks proactively, bringing structured options and recommendations to client and internal stakeholders rather than just surfacing problems.
- Drive adoption of Accenture's AI-accelerated migration methodology and delivery assets to compress traditional migration timelines and improve quality.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and manage trusted relationships with client technology architects, engineering leads, and delivery counterparts on day-to-day solution and delivery decisions.
- Support senior client conversations (CDO, VP Data & Analytics, Head of Data Platforms, Engineering) on program status, risk, and value realization, in partnership with account leadership.
- Translate between business priorities and technical execution, ensuring the delivery team understands the ‘why’ behind scope and sequencing decisions.
Team & Talent Leadership
- Lead and mentor a large, multi-functional team spanning data engineering, architecture, and quality engineering, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with resourcing and staffing teams to build and flex delivery teams (onshore/offshore) against program demand.
- Coach emerging leads and managers within the team, supporting their growth into delivery leadership roles.
Technical Credibility
- Maintain working fluency in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing/lakehouse architectures, and data modeling — enough to engage credibly on design trade-offs.
- Champion data governance, quality, and security practices across the engagement, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory standards.
- Stay current on cloud data services, AI-ready data patterns, and modernization tooling to bring fresh points of view to client engagements.
Role is hybrid, 2-3 days in office is mandated by client.
Here's what you need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in data solutions delivery, including at least 3–5 years leading delivery teams or workstreams on large-scale data migration or modernization programs.
- Proven experience delivering data solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including data lakes, pipelines, and real-time data processing.
- Solid understanding of data architecture, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and data modeling; working knowledge of Python, SQL, and modern data platform tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to manage RAID logs, dependencies, and cutover planning across multi-workstream programs.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging both client technical leads/architects and, in support of account leadership, senior business stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross-functional and often onshore/offshore delivery teams, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent.
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and experience enforcing data quality, security, and compliance standards across large datasets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience within the consulting/systems-integration industry, ideally supporting proposals, SOWs, or staffing estimates for data engagements.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar lakehouse technologies.
- Experience with modern data pipeline/orchestration tooling (e.g., Airflow, Fivetran) and ETL tools such as Informatica IDMC/IICS.
- Exposure to GenAI-accelerated migration or data-modernization tooling (e.g., AI-assisted code/data conversion, AI-based data mapping and reconciliation).
- Experience with data modeling, big data platforms (e.g., Cloudera, Hortonworks), MySQL/NoSQL, and CQRS/Event Sourcing patterns.
- Relevant certifications — AWS/Azure/GCP data or solutions architect, PMP, or Scrum/SAFe.
- Experience in one or more priority industries — Banking & Capital Markets, Health & Public Service, Communications/Media/Technology, Resources, or Products
