Description

At Urban Utilities, our purpose is simple yet powerful – Enrich Quality of Life. With a $7 billion asset base and services spanning 1.5 million residents and more than 31,000 commercial customers across South East Queensland, we are committed to enhancing the liveability of our communities every day.

Your Opportunity

Our Maintenance Services needs a dedicated planner to own the MECS category (mechanical, electrical and control systems), so maintenance work isn’t delayed by missing stock or held up by excess inventory.

Success in this role means crews have the right parts when work orders are due, critical spares meet our obligations, and inventory costs stay low without compromising availability. That relies on accurate Ellipse data and forecasts built with the people who use the materials.

You’ll sit in Maintenance Services, working daily with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing and Warehousing, reporting to the Maintenance Standards Leader. Your planning directly affects whether maintenance happens on schedule, and in turn the safety, compliance and service outcomes Urban Utilities is measured on.

What You’ll Deliver

  • Lead MECS supply planning activities, facilitating cross-functional meetings to flag materials risks and opportunities

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts in partnership with maintenance, engineering and warehousing teams

  • Deliver timely requisitions, Pos and warehouse issues to meet work order due dates, expediting where needed

  • Manage Ellipse stock code and MRP master dada to keep planning accurate and reliable

  • Build and maintain critical spares inventory strategy that meets SOCI obligations

About You

  • Degree in business, finance, procurement, supply chain, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

  • 2-3 years in a similar role, managing demand and supply for a medium-size asset network

  • Experience with DRP/MRP functionality, including demand and forecasting tools

  • Ellipse experience is preferred

  • Experience developing supply planning processes and using inventory optimisation tools

  • Experience collaborating with digital/IT teams to optimise ERP and supply chain systems

At Urban Utilities, we believe our workforce should reflect the community we serve. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, including First Nations peoples, people with disability, members of the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, emergency responders and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

You might not meet every single requirement listed. If you are excited about the role and believe you can make a strong contribution, we encourage you to apply.

If you require adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know so we can support you.
