Job Summary:
Learns and assists in performing general carpentry tasks under close supervision. Supports carpenters with material handling, preparation, and basic construction activities while developing foundational technical and safety skills. Builds understanding of carpentry methods, hand and power tool usage, and DPR’s standards for quality and jobsite safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists in preparing materials, tools, and work areas for carpentry tasks.
Supports experienced carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and related materials.
Observes and learns proper carpentry techniques and tool operation.
Follows safety policies, PPE requirements, and DPR procedures at all times.
Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout project activities.
Participates in on-the-job and classroom training to build technical proficiency.
Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors to support work progress.
Education Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
0–2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field required.
Certifications and Licenses:
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction certification within 3 months of hire required.
