Scheduling & Referral Liason - Orthopedics

Job Summary:

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a highly organized and skilled Scheduling and Referrals Liaison for our Orthopedics department. This role involves managing the development and administration of scheduling and referrals, ensuring a seamless pre-admission evaluation process for patients. The ideal candidate will have clinical knowledge/terminology, attention to detail, and strong administrative skills.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling Management:

• Build, operate, and maintain scheduling templates.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to create custom scheduling templates.
• Provide scheduling/coordination of meetings, conferences, and special events.

Referral Processing:

• Gather, verify, and process referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications.
• Communicate with referral sources to obtain required information/documentation.
• Act as a liaison between referral sources and the Orthopedics department to ensure referrals are processed efficiently.

Administrative Support:

• Serve as an internal resource and consultant regarding the functioning of assigned systems.
• Provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
• Offer additional administrative support to the Orthopedics department.

Qualifications:

• Clinical knowledge/terminology is strongly preferred.
• Strong administrative skills with the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in scheduling software and systems.
• Ability to work closely with physicians, patients, and payers.
• Experience in managing referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications.

Compensation Information:

$24.19 - $42.34

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
