A Mars Petcare Category Management Analyst plays an integral role in leveraging analytical data and converting it into insights and recommendations for key stakeholders that will achieve business objectives. This role will support the Pet Specialty Category Managers in analytics and customer presentations.  

What we are looking for?

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2 years in sales or category analytics or management
• 2 years of consumer-packaged goods analytical experience
• Highly skilled in Excel and PowerPoint
• Able to effectively communicate and interact with others and work effectively within a team
• Strong analytical skills and ability to distill complex data into clear and impactful stories
• Strong sense of curiosity

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Utilize data to Identify business trends, competitive market activity, shopper trends, product performance, and provide actionable recommendations to partner retailers
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to track performance of business objectives (shelf performance, product effectiveness, retailer initiatives)
• Build, update and refresh weekly and monthly dashboards (weekly POS + monthly category recaps)
• Provide ad hoc support as needed

Other Responsibilities

• As a category analyst you will play a critical role in supporting the category advisor team and building a strong partnership with our customer(s)
• You will conduct high quality analysis and synthesis of multi-source data to evaluate item performance, assortment planning and store clustering through the modular process, while leveraging effective communication & influencing to orchestrate action
• Participate in the development of category presentations incorporating syndicated data and other sources of data that address business issues
• Work closely with our Category Management and Space Planning teams to ensure quality results are delivered
• Keep abreast of customer(s) KPIs, strategies, and other important information
