Please note this is a 12-month internship opportunity starting January 2027 - Deceber 2027. This role is ideal for individuals who have recently completed or are very close to finishing their studies.

About the role:

The Manufacturing Engineering Associate works within our Mississauga Site Operations team and is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes and equipment used for catheter assembly. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Production, Quality Engineers and Maintenance Technicians to resolve production issues, and actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve upon existing processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide ongoing engineering support to production lines to help resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help with root cause investigations related to production process related issues.
  • Under guidance from experienced team members, work with SMEs in the business to conduct process improvement related activities to enhance existing manufacturing capability.
  • Design and introduce manufacturing processes and tools to improve safety, quality, cost and efficiency.
  • Assist with the development and execution of process validation and test plans .
  • Lead LEAN initiatives to make improvements to manufacturing processes.
  • Aid in the development and provision of technical documentation by preparing drawings, writing work instructions, and providing training for new tools and equipment.
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

Required qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in an Engineering degree, or a recent graduate from a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical or similar)
  • Strong interest in biomedical technology and manufacturing processes
  • Strong interest working in a production/lab environment, with a proactive hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Basic understanding of process development, root cause analysis and risk management principles
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, MS Office and Minitab (or similar statistical analysis software)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous co-op/internship/project experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma or LEAN knowledge

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
