Job Description:
This role sits within Data, Reporting & Operations Management (DROM), a Global Operations Line of Business responsible for the delivery, control, and governance of the bank's regulatory and operational reporting obligations, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting across Global Markets and Global Banking businesses.
The successful candidate will join the APAC Strategy, Change & Transformation team and be responsible for driving strategic regulatory reporting transformation initiatives across the region.
The role combines project management, business analysis, stakeholder management, and regulatory change delivery responsibilities.
The individual will collaborate with Operations, Front Office/Product teams, Technology, Compliance, Legal and Control functions to implement regulatory reporting change in a controlled and sustainable manner.
Initiatives may include regulatory mandates, operating model redesign, strategic transformation, process simplification, control enhancement, and remediation programs.
The extent of involvement will vary across initiatives, ranging from end-to-end project delivery through to business analysis, testing coordination, operational readiness, and implementation support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of regulatory reporting projects across APAC jurisdictions, from initiation through implementation and business adoption
- Drive implementation of operational, technology, or control-related changes with varying levels of complexity and regulatory impacts
- Partner closely with DROM report preparers and business stakeholders to understand current state processes and future state requirements
- Conduct impact assessments, process analysis, gap analysis, and requirements gathering activities
- Translate complex regulatory and business requirements into actionable business outcomes
- Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and control enhancements
- Ensure business readiness and successful transition into production environments
- Develop and maintain project governance and delivery artefacts, including project plans, resource forecasts, RAID logs, operational readiness assessments, governance materials, and executive management reporting
- Ensure compliance with Enterprise Change Management standards and DROM specific governance requirements
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
- Facilitate working groups, steering committees, and executive governance forums
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to business analysts
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the Transformation team
Required Skills:
- 5-–10+ years’ experience in project or change management within financial services
- Experience delivering regulatory reporting change, regulatory remediation, or control‑driven transformation initiatives
- Understanding of Global Markets and/or Global Banking lines of business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including evidence of executive level engagement
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue management skills
- Ability to meet delivery deadlines whilst managing multiple priorities and facing incomplete information
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of APAC regulatory reporting regimes (e.g. HKMA / HKTR, MAS, ASIC, RBI)
- Experience with Transaction Reporting and/or Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting operating environments.
- Specific product knowledge either in Global Markets (Securities, OTC Derivatives) or Global Banking (Payments, Loans)
- Previous experience managing small to mid-size teams
