Senior Azure DevOps Engineer – Azure Infrastructure

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join our growing technology team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on designing, building, automating, and supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

You will be responsible for developing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms while driving Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevOps best practices across the organisation. Working closely with architects, developers, and security teams, you'll help deliver modern cloud solutions that enable rapid and reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise Azure infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and operational processes.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and performance optimisation.
• Ensure Azure environments are secure, resilient, and compliant with best practices.
• Manage networking components including VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Private Endpoints, VPNs, and ExpressRoute.
• Support identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience designing and supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Experience with PowerShell and automation scripting.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking and connectivity.
• Experience implementing Azure governance, security, and cost optimisation.
• Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Experience with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and Zero Trust architecture.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

• Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400 or equivalent).
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• Knowledge of GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Azure Landing Zones and enterprise-scale deployments.
• Familiarity with FinOps and Azure cost management.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
