The Opportunity

As the RN Director of Critical Care, you are the operational compass for our most fast-paced and critical departments. You will hold direct accountability for the day-to-day success of our Emergency Department, Special Care Unit (SCU), and Seasonal Clinics.

You won't just be managing—you will be collaborating with ED Physicians, optimizing our EPIC electronic health records, and championing practice improvement initiatives. This is a role for a strategic thinker who leads with emotional intelligence and thrives on rapid-cycle improvement.

Your Impact

Strategic Vision & Business Acumen

• Drive Operational Excellence: Anticipate the needs of our facility and operationalize strategic initiatives that elevate patient care.

• Financial Stewardship: Oversee the financial health of your departments, including forecasting, budget preparation, and resource allocation to ensure maximum efficiency.

• System Optimization: Champion the continuous improvement and refinement of our EPIC electronic health record system across all your service lines.

Clinical Operations & Quality

• Seamless Care Delivery: Ensure exceptional, seamless patient care coordination across the ED, SCU, and Seasonal Clinics.

• Standards of Excellence: Maintain unwavering compliance with accrediting and licensing agencies, keeping our department safety records stellar.

• Data-Driven Quality: Identify, develop, and implement action plans for continuous quality and performance improvement using Lean methodologies.

• Inspire & Mentor: Create a supportive, high-performing culture. Directly supervise and mentor Administrative and Clinic Supervisors, fostering individual motivation and growth.

• Build the Best Team: Lead the charge in interviewing, hiring, training, and retaining top-tier clinical talent.

• Collaborative Influence: Act as the vital bridge between nursing practice, Senior Leaders, Medical Staff, and Human Resources.

What You Bring to the Table

Required Qualifications:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree paired with at least 5 years of experience in emergency healthcare management.

• Licensure: A current, unencumbered Montana RN License.

• Certifications:

  • RQI Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer.

  • ALS & PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health record/clinical documentation systems (EPIC experience is a major plus!).

• Mindset: Deep understanding of rapid cycle improvement/Lean methodologies, coupled with outstanding critical thinking and organizational skills.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
