POSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the Lead Supply Technician leads a work team by prioritizing, assigning, and coordinating daily staff activities in a federal location, while working alongside the team on the same tasks. Assignments and work usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations involving individual case problems or supply actions. Employees in this job class require practical skill and knowledge of work practices, equipment, supplies and procedures, with attention to knowing and using safe work practices.
TYPICAL DUTIES: 1. * Prioritize and assign tasks, including coordination of work schedules to ensure coverage, rebalancing as necessary for special projects and customer satisfaction. 2. *Oversee supply system and related policies.3. * Maintain supplies, stock and equipment to ensure proper operation and safe condition. 4. * Train and assist workers in performing duties.5. * Monitor progress of tasks and inspect completed work to ensure quality. 6. * Investigate discrepancies and report them to management, recommending improvements to resolve issues. 7. * Maintain a good relationship with workers and customers. 8. * Know and train workers in the safe and proper use of products and equipment to meet quality and safety standards. 9. * Prepare records and reports as needed. 10. *Perform aspects of technical supply management work included but not limited to inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization related to depot, local or other supply activities. 11. *Analyze, define or recognize the dimension of problems, collect necessary data to establish facts, and take recommended action based on established guidelines.12. *Frequent travel between facilities or shops.13. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Must meet all requirements of worker position in the trade being led; • At least one year of related experience; • Working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines;• Possess written and oral communication skills to effectively follow instructions, to present information and to respond to management, employees, and customers; • Computer literacy and skills to use word processing and spreadsheet software and database software and systems;• Mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; • Ability to train employees in proper practices and procedures;• Ability to work safely and train others in safety and the proper use of tools and equipment; • Ability to travel to various facilities; • Ability to manage material resources and time, and to work independently and as a team; • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common sense skills; • Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate matters appropriately; • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Forklift Certification
Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:
• Viewing computer screens• Using a keyboard• Climbing, sitting, and twisting to operate a forklift• Lifting or moving boxes or equipment up to 35 pounds • Climbing and/or working from high platforms and/or ladders• Ability to operate a pallet jack and hand-truck• Ability to communicate with coworkers and customers
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed at a customer’s location in an office / shop environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise and/or noise from equipment. Transporting to locations with the work site may be required. Employees may also be exposed to extreme cold or heat.
