Responsible for development, promotion and coordination of the Bariatric Program and services at Mercy Hospital. Performs duties consistent with the established stand of practice, the goal of Mercy, and within the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy and the Employee Code of Conduct. Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Details:

Education: Graduated from an accredited RN nursing school.
Licensure: Current RN in the state of practice.
Experience: Knowledgeable regarding bariatric surgery, bariatric care and special needs related to the bariatric patient. Skills in program development, operations, presentation and budgeting. Use of the EMR. Chart review/Data collection and report writing experience preferred.
Certification/Registration: Current Basic Life Support.
Other: Ability to hear and read effectively.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to navigate effectively in many computer systems.
Ability to work in a team-focused environment.
Ability to work in a rapid-paced work environment.
Ability to work independently.
Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to provide quality bedside patient care.
Preferred Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
Preferred Experience: Skills in public relations and in development of interdepartmental relationships Experience in data entry, data bases and data registries.
Preferred Certification/Registration: Certified Bariatric Nurse
Preferred Other: Excellent computer skills in development of presentations and reports.
