The CPE Coordinator provides clinical pastoral education, which is professional training for ministry within clinical settings, to approximately 11 Chaplain Residents and Interns, and a CPE Senior Chaplain Resident (CEC). The CPE Coordinator maintains compliance with certification, accreditation and standards of the ACPE in conjunction with the Director of Pastoral Care. The Coordinator develops curriculum, supervises students’ clinical work, provides educational opportunities, and evaluates students. The CPE Coordinator assists the department with pastoral care ministry on units and with liturgical and sacramental needs as required, in the traditions of the Catholic Identity; the Ignatian concept of “women and men for others”; and the SPIRIT values of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH).

The Coordinator works with and reports to (and works in collaboration with) the director of the department.
