The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

Job Description

The Email Marketing Strategist II drives lifecycle engagement and campaign performance by building, executing, and optimizing sophisticated email programs. This role owns communications for assigned audiences, translates performance data into strategic recommendations, and partners with stakeholders to deliver measurable results.

*This is an in-office position working out of our Corporate Head Quarters in Salt Lake City, Utah

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities below represent the role’s primary areas of ownership and may evolve as business needs change.

  • Build, deploy, optimize, and report on multiple ongoing and ad hoc email campaigns.
  • Advise stakeholders, clarify requirements, and translate business needs into effective campaign strategies.
  • Design and maintain advanced Marketo programs, including engagement, trigger-based, multistep, multichannel, and form-driven campaigns.
  • Analyze campaign performance and turn data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Lead A/B and multivariate testing and apply findings to improve engagement and results.
  • Own lifecycle communications for assigned audiences and serve as the subject matter expert on their behaviors, preferences, and performance metrics.
  • Partner across teams to design and launch new or enhanced campaigns.
  • Conduct competitive analyses, quarterly audits, and ongoing operational maintenance.
  • Support other related priorities as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Clear written and verbal communication, with strong attention to accuracy and presentation.
  • Effective prioritization and management of multiple concurrent campaigns.
  • Advanced proficiency with Marketo and email automation tools.
  • Knowledge of audience segmentation, testing methodologies, and performance analysis.
  • Ability to produce accurate, timely campaigns that meet approved requirements and quality standards.
  • Ability to improve engagement, conversation, deliverability, and testing outcomes for assigned audiences.
  • Ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships supported by clear recommendations, dependable execution, and transparent reporting.
  • Confidence in interpreting data and using reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365+
  • Practical application of artificial intelligence tools in marketing and analytics work.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marketo certification or extensive hands-on Marketo expertise.
  • Familiarity with comparable marketing automation platforms, such as Eloqua, HubSpot, Knak, or Klaviyo.
  • Working knowledge of HTML for email development.
  • Relevant Adobe Digital Experience certifications.

Experience in lieu of education

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements.  Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.


This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.

Position & Application Details
