Description

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Global Logistics Supervisor to join our Customer Operations team. Reporting to the Customer Operations Manager, the Global Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing domestic and international logistics activities and supporting the effective execution of Urschel’s trade compliance program. This position is not remote and will be required to report daily to the Corporate Headquarters in Chesterton, Indiana.

Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Job Duties:

  • Lead day-to-day domestic and international shipping activities, including LTL, FTL, and international small-parcel shipments, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely execution.
  • Ensure established trade compliance requirements are consistently followed, escalating matters requiring interpretation or policy decisions as appropriate.
  • Serve as an escalation point for transportation, documentation, customs, carrier, and shipment-related issues, including damaged or lost shipment claims.
  • Monitor operational performance and proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, service levels, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, customer operations, or a related field. Prior supervisory, team leadership, or demonstrated leadership experience is preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills, with attention to detail. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative, pursue improvements, and manage competing priorities.
