About the Role
BDO's Business Services team partners with clients to help them grow, succeed and achieve their strategic goals. We work with a diverse portfolio of emerging businesses, established corporate groups, privately owned organisations, and high-net-worth individuals and family groups across a broad range of industries.
Our team delivers practical, commercial advice and tailored solutions across:
Growth and business advisory
Strategic planning
Business mentoring and coaching
Due diligence and transaction support
Accounting and business advisory services
Financial modelling and forecasting
Business finance applications
Tax planning and structuring
Tax compliance and indirect tax advisory (including GST)
Business systems selection and implementation
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Business Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and advisory capabilities while working closely with clients and experienced leaders in a collaborative and high-performing environment.
In this role, you will:
Prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and financial reporting obligations across a range of industries
Prepare income tax returns and related compliance work for companies, trusts and high-net-worth individuals
Assist with tax planning initiatives and provide advice on business operations, tax matters and regulatory obligations
Deliver business and tax advisory services, including business structuring, performance improvement and growth initiatives
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service delivery
Collaborate with Managers and Partners to provide practical solutions to client challenges
Support, coach and mentor junior team members to assist with their professional development
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience within a professional services or public practice environment
A genuine interest in business advisory and taxation services
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility with clients and colleagues
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Progress towards, or completion of, CA or CPA qualifications
Experience using APS and/or Xero (desirable)
