Sales Representative & Marketing Department

Summary

A well-established manufacturer of commercial food processing equipment is seeking a Sales Representative to join its growing California office. This position is primarily focused on sales activities and offers a balanced mix of new business development and existing account management (approximately 50% each). The assigned territory covers the Western U.S., with occasional business activities in Texas.

The ideal candidate enjoys building long-term customer relationships, traveling to meet clients, and working collaboratively with a team. Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers (approximately 50% new business / 50% existing accounts).
• Manage sales activities throughout the Western U.S. territory, with occasional business development in Texas.
• Conduct product presentations and equipment demonstrations at customer sites and in the showroom.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide product recommendations.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and follow up on sales opportunities.
• Travel within the assigned territory to visit customers and attend trade shows as needed.
• Deliver equipment and provide basic operational training after installation.
• Collaborate with the technical support team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepare sales reports and maintain customer records.
• Participate in marketing events, exhibitions, and promotional activities.
• Work closely with the branch team to achieve overall business goals.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience.
• Experience in the food industry, food service, food manufacturing, distribution, or related industries is highly preferred.
• Experience selling equipment, machinery, or industrial products is a plus.
• Restaurant or hospitality industry experience will also be considered.
• Business-level English required.
• Business-level Japanese is highly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel approximately 20-25%.
• Comfortable lifting and transporting equipment for demonstrations (up to approximately 85 lbs with proper equipment/support).
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate across departments.
