Description
We are seeking a Process Engineer to serve as the primary technical owner for our shields production processes. You will ensure workflow stability, optimize manufacturing metrics, and provide hands-on engineering support on the production floor.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to solve complex production issues using structured methods.
- Process Control: Knowledge of standard work, control plans, and variation reduction.
- Chemical Environment: Comfortable working in and around industrial manufacturing chemicals.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence collaborative teams.
- Specialized Experience: 5+ years in coatings, cleanroom, or chemical processing.
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Data Analytics: Experience using statistical software (like JMP) for DOE and SPC.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Process Ownership: Own, stabilize, and ensure specification control for assigned production lines.
- KPI Metrics: Drive improvements in yield, productivity, cycle time, scrap, and coating usage.
- Floor Troubleshooting: Provide hands-on support to resolve complex process issues and machinery breakdowns.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean/Six Sigma tools to optimize safety, quality, throughput, and costs.
- Data & Dashboards: Analyze process data to identify variation drivers and build tracking dashboards.
- SOP Documentation: Write and improve SOPs, work instructions, and change management workflows.
- New Product Launch: Support production readiness for new equipment, products, and process changes.
- Safety Leadership: Align engineering solutions with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) codes.
- Team Coaching: Train process technicians and operators to improve plant troubleshooting capabilities.
- Production Presence: Maintain high floor visibility with occasional off-shift or weekend support.
