About our property:
The Hanover Inn has a rich legacy of hospitality stretching all the way back to its humble beginning back in 1780 when the Inn first welcomed guests as a Tavern. Notable guests have included Presidents Monroe, Wilson, F.D.R., Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan. George Washington did not sleep at the inn but Booker T. Washington did. Entertainers have included Kirk Douglas, Ella Fitzgerald, Joan Baez, Art Linkletter, Mary Tyler Moore, Burt Bacharach, Duke Ellington, Lillian Gish and B.B. King. The list of writers includes F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.D. Salinger, Sinclair Lewis, Carl Sandburg, Robert Frost, and Dr. Seuss.What you will have an opportunity to do:
The Valet/Bell Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by greeting guests, assisting with valet parking, and safely parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely manner. This role requires a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating a welcoming first and last impression for every guest. If guests are arriving by motor vehicle, you will open their door as you welcome them to the Inn.
- Park and retrieve guest vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Assist guests in securing other forms of transportation as needed.
- You will be working together with other attendants to ensure each guest has a personalized experience and will “dive" to open the door for all guests and ensure smooth operations.
- Assist lobby attendant in keeping entrance area clean and organized
- "Be the difference" with all guest and employees and do more than just “the norm".
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the hotel positively.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies while operating guest vehicles.
Assist with luggage and escort to rooms as needed.
What are we looking for?
At least one (1) year of customer service experience with significant guest interaction preferred.
Previous hospitality experience is preferred.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no moving violations for at least six (6) months.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, outgoing, and service-oriented personality.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
