Job Description:
The incumbent will be the lead technical resource on the new ERP implementation of Unit4SM as the College’s new Student Information System.
The incumbent will be accountable for understanding detailed business architecture and supporting processes and determine the best approach to digitally automating them in U4SM.
The incumbent will use industry best practices to provide input to the Manager in the formation of technical strategy for the replacement of the current SIS and identification of key gaps and provide a roadmap to close those gaps. The Unit4 Student Information Systems Architect will be a key resource for high-level enterprise plans, and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and recommend methods for implementing these plans.
This position will focus on the U4SM Platforms, which includes but not limited to Student Information Systems, Cloud solutions strategy and an integrated Automated Programming Interfaces (API) framework employed through all compatible systems.
The incumbent will be the lead resource for working with other teams to identify means to automate and replace current integrations and functionality.
The incumbent will assist in the analysis of requirements to support the implementation of a corporate portal to replace our current Student and Staff portals.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum three (3) year diploma/degree in Computer Science/Systems/Engineering/Information Systems or Business Administration with a Computer Major.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
Minimum of eight (8) years of architecture experience including framework and methodology development;
Must have Experience with other development platforms, preferably .net, C++;
Must have experience with real-time integration; experience with integration of COTS solutions via API or Web-Services;
Must have understanding of best practices and design trade-offs, with the ability to communicate design choices;
Must have experience in managing and introducing a wide range of enterprise applications and technologies;
Must have experience in analyzing partner business requirements;
Must have experience in proposing technology solutions meeting partner and IT stakeholders requirements;
Experience in producing strategic roadmaps an asset;
Must have experience in product lifecycle management; including introducing, maintaining and decommissioning IT products;
Participation in knowledge sharing and mentorship;
Must have proven success with ERP implementations with preference for Unit4SM or other SIS implementations;
Must have knowledge of internet and cloud architecture paradigms;
Student Information Systems experience as application Architect.
