**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD**
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Ensures all maintenance conforms to the highest safety and regulatory standards through active monitoring and effective program management. This role requires the physical and administrative observation of ongoing maintenance for compliance with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program and safety protocols, including performing daily work site Safety and Foreign Object Damage inspections. A key duty is to screen, review, and determine the applicability of technical data before it is distributed to the maintenance department. QARs conduct periodic audits and final visual inspections upon task completion, verifying all work orders and maintenance action form documentation. Furthermore, they are tasked with the critical responsibility of maintaining all Quality, Safety, Training, and Certification Records.
Also, will be the Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Technician – Level III which will serve as the senior technical authority for NDI activities within Tyonek Services Group. Will be responsible for providing technical direction, oversight, and support for NDI/NDT operations performed in support of GSE maintenance, modification, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and Government contractual requirements.
DUTIES:
- The Quality Control/Technical Inspector implements quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specification and applicable regulations.
- Inspects all phases of a variety of goods, services or operations for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing on-going work for compliance with contractual provisions.
- Ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
- Communicates deficiencies to proper personnel and follows up when necessary to ensure that corrections are made.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite and can learn additional computer skills/software programs.
- Accurately key Data into databases
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff.
- Perform basic mathematical computations.
- Accurately and thoroughly documents results of all inspections.
- Maintains accurate quality control files.
- Develop, qualify, approve, and maintain all NDI procedures and techniques used to inspect GSE.
- Be the final authority for the interpretation and evaluation of NDI results against applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Provide technical disposition recommendations concerning NDI findings when authorized by applicable technical data and organizational procedures.
- Resolve technical NDI issues that exceed the authority or qualification level of level I or II personnel.
- Provide technical consultation to Maintenance, Production, Program Management, and Government/customer representatives concerning NDI matters.
- Establish and administer the NDI qualification and certification program for all Contractor personnel, which includes providing formal classroom training, administering examinations, and certifying Level I and II technicians in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or an equivalent standard.
- Maintain a current auditable file of all NDI procedures, personnel certification records, and equipment calibration documentation.
- There are OCONUS sites that are supported by this effort, which may require travel for inspections/audits.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of eight years as a Naval Aviation Ground Support Mechanic
- Minimum of three years as a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative or Quality Assurance Representative
- Working knowledge of Quality Management System principles and control of nonconforming products.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or physical science discipline or verified graduation from the U.S. Navy's Non-Destructive Testing technician school is required.
- Minimum of eight years of documented experience in the NDT field of at least a level II NDT Coordinator or level III Specialist.
- Experience training and qualifying Level I and Level II NDI personnel.
- Expert-level proficiency in multiple NDT methods and demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical standards.
- Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001
- Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Must be a US citizen
