Role Overview

Reporting into the Finance Manager, this Interim Payroll Manager / Payroll Officer will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across a diverse employee base using Chris21.

On a daily basis, you will manage payroll cycles, maintain employee records, and ensure accuracy across all payroll transactions. Weekly, you will handle payroll queries, liaise with internal stakeholders, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. On a monthly basis, you will support reporting, reconciliations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth payroll operations during a busy period. You will also contribute to process optimisation and support system enhancements as the business continues to scale.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing using Chris21
• Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation, awards, and company policies
• Manage payroll queries and provide support to employees and stakeholders
• Maintain and update employee payroll records accurately
• Process superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory requirements
• Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with month-end reporting
• Support system improvements and payroll-related projects
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless operations

Candidate Profile

You are an experienced Payroll professional with strong end-to-end payroll expertise and hands-on experience using Chris21. Ideally, you have worked in a fast-paced or technology-driven environment and are confident managing payroll independently in a contract setting.

You have strong knowledge of payroll legislation, excellent communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail. Adaptable and solutions-focused, you thrive in dynamic environments and can quickly add value.
