Description

CAE is looking for a hands-on, proactive IT Systems Administrator to keep our Nordic training centres running securely, reliably, and at peak performance. You’ll combine solid systems administration with on-the-ground support—owning the day-to-day technology experience across Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo, with occasional support to other European locations.

This role is based in Copenhagen, but is a travel-based role with a strong on-site presence across Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo, ensuring consistent, high-quality IT service delivery. You will need to be happy to travel most weeks to other locations. Our dedicated remote teams provide first-line support and network operations, so you can focus on keeping the environment stable, modern, and continuously improving.

What you’ll do:

Core systems administration (Nordic sites)

  • Own and maintain the server environment across Nordic sites (Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, file/print services).

  • Administer and optimise cloud services, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint Online.

  • Coordinate with our dedicated network team to keep connectivity secure, stable, and resilient.

  • Monitor, patch, and harden systems—applying cybersecurity and compliance best practices.

  • Drive backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning—then test it so it works when it matters.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in line with company policies.

  • Keep documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories current for all Nordic locations (Lucidchart, SharePoint, OneNote).

Automation & Copilot

  • Spot opportunities to automate repetitive work and deliver solutions using scripting (PowerShell, Python) and automation platforms.

  • Use Microsoft Copilot and other AI-powered tools to streamline IT operations, speed up support, and improve the employee experience.

  • Stay current on emerging automation and AI capabilities, and help champion what’s valuable in the Nordic IT environment.

Advanced support & project leadership

  • Provide 2nd-line support for Nordic sites, solving complex issues escalated from the service desk.

  • Deliver hands-on, on-site support: onboarding/offboarding, device setup (PCs, iPads), and classroom technology support.

  • Plan and deliver upgrades, migrations, and deployments (hardware and software) with minimal disruption.

  • Lead or contribute to regional/global initiatives—especially infrastructure refreshes and security improvements.

  • Create and deliver clear technical training and knowledge sharing for local staff and end users.

  • Work with vendors and service providers on procurement, support, and contract management.

Strategic & cross-site ownership

  • Align local IT operations with business priorities and global IT standards.

  • Run regular site visits to assess infrastructure health, end-user needs, and compliance.

  • Continuously improve processes to raise reliability, security, and service quality.

  • Contribute to regional IT budgeting and smart resource allocation.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in systems administration and/or senior IT support roles (typically 5+ years).

  • Hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and core networking concepts.

  • Experience supporting cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience applying modern security, patching, and compliance practices.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues using a structured approach.

  • Experience managing small technical projects end‑to‑end.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently between Nordic sites.

  • Existing legal authorization to work in Denmark (work permits cannot be provided).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

  • Experience using AI‑enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot in an IT operations context.

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Azure, and/or CCNA.

  • Experience supporting multi‑site or geographically distributed environments.

What CAE offers

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Company-funded training and certifications to support your growth.

  • Real ownership: help shape IT operations across multiple countries and sites.

  • The chance to work with modern technology at a global leader in aviation training.

Location & travel

  • Based at the CAE Training Centre in Copenhagen, Denmark.

  • Regular travel across the Nordics (and occasional international travel) is part of the role.

  • Candidates must have existing rights to be work in Denmark, we will not be able to provide a work permit

If you enjoy owning systems end to end, building strong relationships on-site, and continuously improving how IT supports the business, this is a great opportunity to join a multi award-winning company and a global leader in its field.
