Overview
A warm and loving family is seeking a nanny to help care for their 3 children aged 4 years, 7 years, and 9 years. The schedule will be a guaranteed 25-hours per week, 2-7pm Monday through Friday during the academic year, and an earlier start when the children are off school (i.e. during the school vacations - Christmas, Spring, Summer etc.). Though the family are open to discussion for extended hours.
They parent their children by being firm but with kindness, so the candidate will need to be open to working with the parents in partnership. Candidates should be warm and loving while maintaining boundaries to ensure the children respect them as an authority.
This is a pet friendly household with the family owning a Bernese Mountain dog, no care is required but the candidate must be comfortable working atound her.
This position is to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Childcare responsibilities will include daily care of the children, school pick-up, engagement in their respective interests, and light housekeeping, and laundry for the children
- Preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children
- Helping their 7-year old with his homework
Qualifications
- The family travel both domestically and internationally and will often do so without the nanny, but would love the option to bring childcare support if required
- A driver isn't essential whilst in the city but would be required during the summer months as the family have a home on Long Island
- The parents value reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and good judgment in a candidate.
- Must be a team-player
- The family is looking for someone energetic and proactive with a positive attitude.
- Confident swimming skills would be a huge plus
- A Mandarin speaking candidate would be a bonus - the children have previously been immersed in Mandarin classes and the parents would like for their knowledge and understanding to continue if possible.
Requirements
- The family spends their Summer in Long Island, and the candidate would ideally join them between Monday and Friday during this time on a live-in basis
- Comfortable around large dogs
- Legally allowed to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
- $35+ per hour
- Paid monthly metro card
- 10 days PTO/Sick/personal days
