About the role

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling plant production operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery objectives while ensuring the timely manufacturing of HVAC equipment in accordance with established technical specifications and standards.

You will lead production teams, optimize the utilization of labor, equipment, and materials, identify and eliminate operational constraints, and foster a strong culture of continuous improvement, safety, accountability, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Plan and oversee daily production activities to ensure production schedules, customer requirements, and delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Lead and develop supervisors, production leaders, and operators while establishing clear objectives and promoting accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.
  • Optimize labor, equipment, materials, and production capacity through effective line balancing, resource allocation, and production planning.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, downtime, scrap, rework, and other sources of waste to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Partner with Quality to ensure products meet applicable specifications, drawings, procedures, work instructions, and established quality standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce defects, scrap, and rework, particularly across critical HVAC manufacturing processes such as welding, brazing, assembly, and testing.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with industrial safety, environmental, ergonomics, PPE, and machine safety requirements.
  • Identify training and development needs, support succession planning, and develop high-potential talent within the production organization.
  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to support production requirements and material availability.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, capacity increases, line transfers, and manufacturing process changes.
  • Establish, monitor, and communicate production KPIs and proactively identify risks that may impact production, quality, cost, or delivery.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong results-driven mindset, proven people leadership capabilities, and a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.

As a minimum you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Production Manager role.
  • Proven experience leading and developing production teams and people managers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience applying Lean methodologies and tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, Kaizen, and Toyota Production System principles.
  • Experience across manufacturing-related functions such as Operations, Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, and Quality.
  • Demonstrated experience improving manufacturing performance, including productivity, efficiency, scrap, rework, downtime, and production flow.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, capacity analysis, line balancing, and resource optimization.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience within HVAC or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, brazing, assembly, and product testing.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions, manufacturing transfers, capacity expansions, or process changes.
  • Experience developing and monitoring operational KPIs and implementing data-driven improvement initiatives.

Benefits

We offer a competitive total rewards package that may include other benefits and well-being programs. Offerings vary by role and location and are designed to support employees’ health, security, and success.
