Opportunity Resource Fund (OppFund) is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) who wants to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

As a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), OppFund provides access to responsible mortgage financing for individuals and families who may face barriers with traditional lenders. We look beyond the application to understand each borrower's circumstances and identify solutions that make homeownership possible. When traditional lending options fall short, our flexible portfolio lending and community-focused programs can open doors that might otherwise remain closed.

Your Primary Market

This position will primarily serve communities in the West Michigan/Greater Grand Rapids area. You'll build relationships with prospective homebuyers, referral partners, and community organizations to expand access to homeownership throughout the region.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proactive, solutions-oriented professional who combines strong customer service skills with the ability to build trust and move transactions successfully from application to closing.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Prior experience in mortgage lending, loan origination, sales, or a related customer-facing role.

• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

• A problem-solving mindset and the ability to identify lending solutions for borrowers facing complex financial or eligibility challenges.

• A deal-closing mindset, with the organization, follow-through, and communication skills needed to move loans efficiently through the pipeline.

• The ability to manage multiple applications, maintain accurate documentation, and coordinate effectively with borrowers, real estate professionals, and internal lending teams.

• A commitment to responsible lending, equitable access to homeownership, and community development.
