Responsibilities
Bruker Energy and Supercon Technologies (Bruker EST) is the world leader in the production of superconducting wires. For more than 50 years, our high performance superconductors have met the needs of healthcare, academic and industrial organizations worldwide, helping drive new discoveries in the clinical and pharmaceutical sectors, including the breakthrough technology of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning, advanced materials science, and sustainable energies.
Position Overview:
This position is a key role in our manufacturing production facility. The individual in this role will play an important part in overseeing a team to ensure our chemical operations is working efficiently.
This is a first shift role with normal working hours between 7AM to 3:30PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct and safe working practices are being followed, that workplaces are maintained to the correct standard (6S and safety), and take appropriate action if this is not the case.
- Ensure that manufacturing targets are being met and that the product is to the correct quality standard.
- Ensure area control plans and standard work is being followed.
- Take appropriate action on production problems and escalate issues to the Group Leader as required.
- Take the lead in training and coaching operators, and co-ordinate on-the-job training of operators. Ensure that training forms are accurate and completed.
- Regularly participate in production activities to help reinforce the training of others, and interface with quality and process engineers when procedural changes are introduced – in order to ensure compliance with MSI procedures and routings, ie ‘standard work’.
- Take part and contribute to process improvement projects.
- Use problem solving and root cause analysis skills to better provide corrective action when required.
- Take the lead within team in continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain area visual displays. (Whiteboards, metrics etc…)
- Cross-training as required per business needs
Qualifications
Qualifications Needed:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Manufacturing experience required.
- Basic math and computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively and read and write in English.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret operating procedures, safety requirements, and calibrated equipment.
- Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures and properly use required safety equipment and features.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to support operational requirements.
- Must have US Citizenship or Permanent Residency. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated hourly range for this full-time position is between $18.00/hr and $25.00/hr and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position.
